NLC Communication

Today’s announcement from the Scottish Government outlines the plan to reopen all schools on a full time basis from August.

We are currently considering the practicalities and implications of this announcement and will await further clarification and guidance from government, particularly in relation to public health and scientific advice.

Our priority is the safety of our pupils and staff across our network of primary, secondary and ASN schools, as well as our early learning and childcare settings.

We understand that you will have questions, and as this news was only announced today, we will make further information available on how this impacts on our schools and facilities in the coming days.

We are preparing for pupils to return full-time to school on 12 August and we will be working closely with our schools and partners, including our early years and childcare provision to establish our plans, which we will communicate as soon as we are in a position to.

Week Beginning 22/06/20

Hello Room 4,

Woohoo!  You have made it to your last few days of term before the summer holiday officially begins.  Today is our virtual sports day and everyone in your family can take part.  You could also win £50 of sports equipment for our school.  All of the events look great fun and I hope that you enjoy it!

Virtual Sports Day Pack

A huge well done to Rose and Riley for their work on Sumdog!  They hit the top spot for the second week in a row.  Rose spent the most time on Sumdog and Riley had the most correct answers overall.  Both of them won the 200 coins reward.  Also a great big well done also goes to Thomas who has been rewarded with 100 points for being the most improved student last week.

Rose has earned a Star Writer certificate this week for the wonderful adventure story she has created called ‘Tartan Dragons’.

On behalf of everyone at Chapelgreen, I would like to say goodbye to all of our wonderful P7 pupils!  They are hardworking, kind, caring and have been good friends and role models to the rest of the school.  We will miss each of them and wish them all the best for starting secondary school.

To the rest of Room 4, I really look forward to seeing you all back in school after the summer when you will become our new P5s, P6s and P7s.  Have a brilliant holiday everyone!

Take care and stay safe.

Love from,

Miss Richardson

Virtual Sports Day!!

Monday 22nd June is the big day!  We would love all of our pupils and families to participate.  Chapelgreen and Banton Primaries have entered a joint team for this event.

This picture tells you the timeline for the day.

There are 7 events.  This picture tells you what the events are and what equipment you can use.

Don’t worry if you don’t have a printer to print off the scorecard.

You can use a pencil and paper to record the scores and send them in to Mrs Savva (Meimaroglou) via email.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.  Above all, this is a fun event and an opportunity for our pupils and families to get outside and enjoy themselves.

Remember, EVERYONE can participate and ALL scores will be counted.  So, grab your trainers and get the whole household involved in some active outdoor fun and games.

Scores can be emailed to Mrs Savva (Meimaroglou).

Active Schools are also encouraging you to tweet photos of you participating to @NLActiveSchools using #NLSportsDay.

There is a chance to win £50 of sporting equipment for the school.

Week Beginning 15/6/20

Hello Room 4,

I hope that you are all doing well.  This is the last full week before summer holidays, can you believe it?  And it is the last week for you to send in your farewell yearbook messages to your friends the P7s.  If you haven’t written yours, please send them to me as soon as possible.  Remember that this is our special gift to them especially as, at the moment, we cannot see them in person to say goodbye.

A huge well done to Rose and Riley for their work on Sumdog last week! Rose spent the most time on Sumdog and Riley had the most correct answers overall.  Both of them have won the 200 coins reward.  I wonder who will get the 200 coins reward this coming week?

Have a great week everybody! I look forward to receiving the rest of your messages for the P7s.

Love from,

Miss Richardson

Hello boys and girls,

I hope you had a fantastic weekend!!

Well done to everyone for your hard work on Sumdog! This week’s Sumdog champion is…. drumroll……MIKEY!!!

Amazing work, Mikey!!

As this is the last full week of term (as next week is a half week), I have decided that this week’s learning will be a little different. We are going on a virtual tour of DISNEY LAND!!

There will be various activities for each day. Some will take you on a tour of the park and some will take you on the rides!! My favourite part of the tour was the Frozen Ever After ride and Magic Happens Parade, so make sure you check them out!

Let me know what your favourite part of the tour was and why!

You can access the trip here >> Disney Virtual Trip << Have fun!! 🙂

Remember you can still access Sumdog, Studyladder, Scholastic and Spelling City this week too.

If you have any questions or want to share how your learning is going, get in touch! 🙂

Stay safe
