10th November 2020 – Updated Leaderboard

After the Halloween competition last week, the leaderboard has been updated to reflect the current points. In a very interesting turn, Bute have sprung from last place, into second place, only two points behind leaders Arran. Mull drop down to third place but hold a narrow lead over Lewis, our last champions! With more events and activities to come, there is lots to play for!

2nd November 2020 – Halloween Results

Last week had a very spooky challenge for our pupils with an Inter House Halloween Challenge being set. Pupils took part in a number of different activities to earn points for their house.

S3 – 5 took part in a Halloween themed Kahoot Quiz with Eilidh Kennah of Bute winning the S3 competition and Ronnie Muslek of Mull winning the S4 competition.

S1 and S2 took part in a Halloween Geography challenge which asked them to identify how Halloween is celebrated around the world. This was then followed by a “design a costume” challenge themed around a Scottish villain. Mr Colquhoun judged this competition and the entries were absolutely fantastic.

Finally, S6 and staff had a costume competition where points were awarded  for the the top five costumes.

22nd October 2020 – Captains Announced

This week, the House Captains were selected and those chosen, awarded their captain badge. These pupils were chosen as they demonstrate the key values of Brannock life and we are very proud that they will be representing their house and the school well. A list of House Captains will be placed on each of the house pages but well done to all our successful captains!

21st October 2020 – Staff Inter House Maths Challenge

Staff took part in the 2020-21 Staff Maths Challenge last week and there was some fantastic competition for Mr Black’s cryptic Maths puzzles. Special mention to Mrs Dow who actually made some of the answers – a noughts and crosses board and a wooden safe that Mr Black could only open with the correct answer to the puzzle! Here are the final standings:

1st Place:  Mrs Dow (Arran)       6 POINTS

2nd Place: Ms Mullen (Arran)    5 POINTS

3rd Place:  Mr Rennie (Mull)       4 POINTS

4th Place:  Mr Gibb (Lewis)          3 POINTS

5th Place:  Mrs Douglas (Lewis) 2 POINTS

All staff that participated in the event received one point for their efforts. These points have now been added to the leader board above, meaning Arran pull away into an early lead!
