Our Faculty Improvement Targets for 2024-25

Literacy Attainment: Demonstrable improvements in young people’s literacy, with measurable improvement and progress in S3 levels and S4-S6 whole school literacy levels.

Self-assessment: Strongly overtaken in 2024-2025 with marked improvement in S3 literacy attainment. Awaiting further information on whole school Senior literacy measures as-and-when released by the Government.

Educational Attainment: Improved outcomes in National Qualification results across S4-S6, with a focus on National 5 English passes at A-C, Higher English passes at an A grade, and National 5 Spanish passes at A-C.

Self-assessment: Strongly overtaken in 2024-2025 with marked improvement in National exams in both English and Spanish, with a marked rise in A grades for all exams.

Educational Experiences: Ensuring all learners access a challenging, supportive curriculum tailored to meet their needs. We will undertake learning, for example on formative assessment, and apply this within the classroom. We will then assess ourselves using cross-marking, classroom visits and professional discussion.

Self-assessment: After two rounds of internal observation – and a formal ‘VSE’ from our senior leadership – the Faculty has identified strong areas of good practice and will target clear areas for improvement.
