PUPIL COUNCIL
Balmalloch Primary School’s Pupil Council group meet approximately twice a month to discuss matters affecting the children in our school. This year’s representatives of the school were selected from P5. All P5 children were given the opportunity to apply for the Pupil Council, and applicants were chosen from these forms.
The responsibility of the Pupil Council is to ensure that each child’s voice in the school is heard. In previous years, the Pupil Council has been involved in redesigning and developing the playground, in organising dress down days for charities, running school competitions and organising aspects of the Christmas Fayre. Last year the Pupil Council worked hard to develop the School’s Policy around our school values. They explored what our School Values represented, and they chose the format of how the school integrated these values as part of our learning and teaching.
Pupil Council understand the obligation they have to represent the variety of children we have at Balmalloch. We regularly discuss inclusion and ensure our resources account for children from different ethnic backgrounds, children with disabilities, and different types of families. We celebrate the variety of children we have at Balmalloch and ensure every voice is heard.
