ASSESSMENT AND REPORTING TO PARENTS
Assessment of pupil progress is conducted in a variety of ways. Continual assessment by class teachers allows teachers to quickly identify any difficulties being experienced by the children and therefore amend the teaching programme. Flexibility in our grouping allows for transfer from group to group if an individual child is making particular progress or experiencing difficulty.
In our nursery and classrooms, staff are using improved ways of assessing children’s learning taking account of national and local advice and guidance. Your child’s progress will be reported to you so that you know how well your child is doing.
Each year we will let you know what is being done to implement Curriculum for Excellence so that you can be confident that your child is receiving a high quality education.
Parents are encouraged to contact the school if they have concerns about any aspect of their child’s education. In addition the following arrangements have been made:

Learning Log, Snapshot Jotter and Progress Report
The Learning Log and Snapshot Jotters are how we as a school report to parents regarding progress and achievement. The 2 jotters are sent out to parents with the Senior Leadership & Management Team monitoring and commenting termly –

Both jotters will be sent out on the following dates for session 22 – 23 –
- 15.11.2022 and to be returned by 18.11.2022
- 26.03.2023 and to be returned by 29.03.2023
- Final Progress Report in Learning Log sent out 23.06.2023
Learning Log –
Each child is given a Learning Log from P1 – P7. The Learning Log contains learning materials, a SHANARRI Web that is completed termly, a termly report card and a pupil profile. Click the links below to see a Report Card, both empty and completed, and the Front Cover of the Learning Log.

Snapshot Jotter –
Each child is given a Snapshot Jotter from P1 – P7. The Snapshot Jotter is used to evidence pupil assessments throughout the year and across different stages. The same jotter is used for stages P2& P3, P4&P5 and P6&P7.
