HMIE Inspection

The inspectors gathered evidence to evaluate the quality of leadership and management, learning provision and children’s successes and achievements. The inspection process identified strengths and areas for improvement. The letter for parents/guardians has now been published along with additional inspection evidence from pupils, parents/guardians, staff questionnaires. Primary 3 Scientists

Last week, Primary 3 became scientists to investigate what might affect the time taken for a toy car to travel down a slope. P1 sunflowers are growing!

The boys and girls have been doing a wonderful job at caring for their plants and most of them are growing lovely and tall. Primary 4 Visit Vikingar!

    Mrs Maitland and I had the pleasure of accompanying Primary 4 on an educational outing to Vikingar today.   The boys and girls enjoyed extending their learning about the Vikings and also impressed our tour guides by showing off their prior knowledge .  The children participated in many activities including dressing up in authentic Viking  clothing, visiting a longhouse and watching a movie about the Battle of Largs in our own private cinema screening!  The day ended

Rookie Rockstars Photos

Wow! Rookie Rockstars certainly made an impression on everyone at Aitkenhead. We had a brilliant two nights rocking it out, dressing up and putting on amazing performances. We demonstrated that we are all confident individuals, even down to our audience members that ‘volunteered’ their talents.
