Primary 5 really enjoyed working in small groups to make up jingles to help them remember the days of the week in French. They had to sing, dance and perform to the rest of the class. Fabulous work P5!!
By now, parents will have received notification in writing that Aitkenhead Primary School is committed to becoming a Rights Respecting School. Primary 5 had so much fun yesterday preparing a Bruschetta – a tasty Italian bread. After carefully washing their hands and putting on their aprons they were ready to listen carefully. They brushed their bread with olive oil and then rubbed a fresh clove of garlic over it. Their next task was to carefully place some mozzarella slices on top. As part of our People Who Help Us Topic parents and family from the community were invited into Primary 2 to give a talk about their jobs and how they help people. We were so lucky to hear lots of stories about how they help people in their individual jobs. We heard from an Optician, Police Officer, Firefighter, Nurse, Hospital Activities Coordinator for the elderly and a Soldier. Thank you so

Yesterday we were shown the 3 blind spots on a big truck at school. There were a few demonstrations including some pupils going inside the truck. It was a good day and was educational too. I enjoyed seeing the truck move and the shocked reactions of my classmates. Lucy P6.
During Relax Kids Primary 6 have been learning about the functions of different parts of the brain and how we can use this knowledge to develop a more positive individual / class ethos.
