A HUGE thank you to all parents for your support so far with the sale of raffle tickets for our P7 Enterprise initiative. The children are raising funds to contribute towards their end of year treat before they had off to high school. Aitkenhead Primary is proud to announce that our P7 pupil Alesha won a competition to rename the Active Schools volunteers. Alesha’s idea to call the volunteers the ‘Activators’ was chosen from a high volume of entries and the new re-brand will appear on all promotional material. Here is Alesha being awarded her certificate and prize by our Active Schools Coordinator.
The children have been very busy planning and preparing their own outdoor learning activities. They are now ready to be tested at our next Leadership Academy! Well done everyone!
To celebrate World Book Day P7 enjoyed paired reading with either their P1 buddy or a P2 pupil. Well done P7! The younger pupils really enjoyed this!
Primary 7 enjoyed a visit from the local Fire Brigade who taught them how to administer CPR in an emergency. The children paid very close attention and were able to demonstrate their learning by using the blow up dolls provided. Each group did very well and some very unusual names were chosen for their doll!
P7 have been enjoying Shinty lessons from Mr Thomson of Uddingston Grammar. They have been comparing the rules between Shinty and Hockey.
The children had a great last night dancing away at the disco. Some great shapes were getting created on that dance floor! Here are the children having a rest to visit the tuck shop.
Today these children had to climb up four different parts of a high rock. They learned how to ensure their safety harness was secure and problem solve the best way to tackle each climb. They worked in partners and individually.
