Pupils in P2 enjoyed having their parents and guardians in for the second time this year. This time our learning was about 3D shape. We built 3D shapes using lollipop sticks and marshmallows and talked about the properties of each of them. We also sorted 2D and 3D shapes. It was a fantastic turnout and thanks to everyone who came!
We are just about to get the children up after their first night’s sleep. They all slept through the night so hopefully will have lots of energy for today. We will try to keep you updated with pictures and comments however the internet signal here is not the best so bear with us.
All the children had a great first day. They all met their instructors, got their equipment and had a getting to know you activity. Some were jumping into the Loch. We completed two night time activities and had some very tired children going to bed!
After some ups and downs during our Clyde in the Classroom project, today was the final farewell to our trout. In a colder location (the old library office) our second batch of eggs successfully hatched and many survived to be released into the river.

Congratulations to our netball team who found out that they had finished 2nd in the Bellshill Netball League on Friday! They played brilliantly and worked extremely well as a team! They now progress to the North Lanarkshire finals in May. Further practices will be scheduled for next term.
Primary 3 have been learning about dividing by sharing. Here are some photos of us dividing in an everyday situation when we made iced biscuits (and even got to eat them), playing active games and reinforcing our learning playing i-pad games. We are now learning about the relationship between multiplication and division.
Here are some photos of children in Primary 1, 2, 3 and 4 enjoying a STEM magic show today. The show engaged children in learning about science, technology, engineering and maths through some very clever magic tricks. Children may wish to try out some of their new tricks on adults at home, so beware!
The children are having a brilliant time using all of the new playground games and equipment that have recently been purchased. The playground has been divided into zones for different activities and there is a rotation system in place to give the classes turns in each zone. If the children choose to, they can play football, basketball, tig or use the trim trail. However if they’d prefer to use the
