Keir Hardie Memorial Primary School has an open door policy and works in partnership with parents and carers. Parents/carers are welcome at all times and by working in partnership, we help raise the achievement and attainment of our pupils by supporting our families. Teachers walk out to the door/gates with their class and this gives parents and staff the opportunity to chat informally.
We have a policy to ensure the safety of our pupils and staff. A camera and buzzer system is in operation to allow access to the School. Following the Cullen Report and in line with North Lanarkshire Policy new procedures for staff and pupil safety were introduced.
Information to parents is shared through a range of communication methods such as Twitter, school blog, text message, newsletters and memos. If any parents wish to speak with the head teacher and appointment can be made via the school office.
Parents are given the opportunity to consult with teachers regularly throughout the session. We encourage parents/carers to attend information sessions and parent consultations, to allow staff and parents to meet discuss their child’s progress.
Most children appreciate parental interest in their achievements. School, class and Pupil Voice Group information is updated on Twitter regularly.
