The children have all been having a great time this week learning the songs for our Rookie Rockstars concert. Each song has a valuable lesson to be learned through it and the children have been talking about the meaning of the songs during our Rookie Rockstars sessions and in class. Each morning they have been perfoming a rock warm up, learning the songs, taking part in question time sessions and competing during the challenge time. Here is some feedback from the children so far –
“The songs are all anti-bullying and learning how to treat each other nicely.” Elysa P5
“I love the music from Rookie Rockstars, it’s good to dance to.” Robert P5
“I like learning the dances and the actions that go along with the songs.” Jessica P5
“I love dancing to Rookie Rockstars, I like doing the air guitar.” Finlay P P5
“The songs are very meaningful and they help me to be confident.” Abi S P5
Below are some sneak peek pictures of what we have been getting up so far. We have lots of videos to show you too but we will keep those until after the concert so it is a surprise!
In our school we value the views and opinions of all our parents and guardians. We would appreciate if you could take 5 minutes of your time to complete the questionnaire below. Many thanks in advance.

In Keir Hardie Memorial Primary we like to consult with our pupils to find out what they enjoy and how we can improve. Below is a survey for all children to complete in class.

We all had a great day yesterday celebrating World Book Day. All the children and staff dressed up as their favourite book characters for the day. In the lead up to the event the children were very busy being authors and illustrators to create their own class book. Each book was presented to the rest of the school at assembly this morning. We also had a book swap event in each class where children swapped books with each other to take home and read. Thank you to all the parents and carers who helped the children to dress up for the occassion.
On Wednesday the whole school travelled down to Motherwell Civic Centre to see this years pantomime- Snow White! We all had a great afternoon and two pupils were even chosen to dance up on the stage with Jimmy! Thank you to all the parent helpers who came along with us and a great big thank you to the parent council who raised the money that allowed us to go!
Christmas Post
Primary 3 are organising the Christmas post this year. We can deliver your Christmas cards for you. Write names and classes on the envelopes then put them in the post box. If you would like to make a small donation to the Text Santa charity we would be very grateful. There will be a money tin beside the post box if you wish to do so.
Thank you,
Miss Rodman and Primary 3
‘The Wriggley Nativity’
Our nursery concert this year is ‘The Wriggley Nativity’. The performance is on Thursday 10 December at 10.00am. Tickets are on sale at £2 per adult. Parents who have children in the school can come free of charge to their nursery child’s concert.
Children attending the morning session at nursery come in at their usual time. Children who attend the afternoon session should be brought to the nursery at 9.30am to get them changed into their costumes.
Keir Hardie Memorial Primary Christmas Lunch
Our Christmas lunch is on Thursday 10 December. Please indicate below if your child will be taking the lunch that day, Christmas lunch is the only option available, (£1.80). Pupils bringing a packed lunch will eat in the classroom, as we try to have as many children eating their Christmas lunch together, and we are extremely short of space.
