September Award Winners

Well done and congratulations to the weekly award winners for September so far.  We’ve had children receiving awards for a wide variety of reasons including good manners and behaviour, excellent story writing and being helpful and friendly towards others.  Fantastic to see all the smiling faces.  We are all very proud of your hard work and effort, keep it up!

Primary 7 go jumping!

P7’s all had an amazing time jumping at airspace on their last ever Keir Hardie School trip! We had 2 hours of jumping and can safely say we were ALL exhausted but had an amazing time. We even had time to squeeze in some sunbathing while we waited for the bus! Videos to follow

Primary 2/3 Trip Briarlands Farm

A fabulous day was had by all at Briarlands Farm today! We had the whole park to ourselves so got to spend lots of time exploring all the different parts of the park including a personal tour around the farm! We helped feed all the animals and had great fun playing on all the equipment! There are some very tired boys and girls tonight and some even more tired teachers and helpers!

Happy 60th Birthday Keir Hardie Memorial Primary

Today saw us enjoying a birthday party to celebrate 60 years of Keir Hardie Memorial Prinary School. The children decided they would like a “street party” to mark the event.

All classes designed and made their own party hats, table mats and even made all their own party food!

We had entertainment from the “Amazing James!” and AMAZING he was!! You could hear the shrieks of laughter across Newarthill!

We finished the party with some games and dancing and it is safe to say every child had an absolute ball!!

A big thank you to all our parents and caters for helping out children look so smart and party ready in their glad rags! We hope you enjoy looking at some of the photos and videos of our event!

Home Learning Survey

school-badge-picSince August we have piloting a new approach to home learning across the school. Having reviewed current research from a variety of sources, we adapted our home learning activities and have tried to develop closer links between school learning and life situations.

We value the views and opinions of both parents’ and pupils’ and are keen to gather feedback on the programme so far and how we could improve upon this.

We would appreciate if you could complete the Home Learning questionnaire at home and return to school by Friday 20th January.  All pupils were issued with this on Friday.  Should you require another copy please contact the school.
