Primary 2/3 had lots of fun on a hunt for ‘Living Things’ in the school playground today. We had to work as a team to record things we could see, hear, feel and smell. We can’t wait to share all of our ideas next week during our topic time!
Maths madness
Primary 2/3 have been working very hard during Maths time. We have been looking at early multiplication and division and handling data. We have used lots of fun materials and resources to help us with our Maths and we are beginning to feel quite confident about sharing items between people in division and making groups of items in multiplication.
A New Year!
Topic: Primary 5 really enjoyed learning all about Buddhism in term 2 and we have now moved onto a new topic: Scotland. So far we have been learning all about clans and their crest/motto. We have also been learning about traditional Scottish food and all of the different tartans. We are currently creating our own group tartans in order to make bagpipes which will be displayed on our Scotland wall display directly outside our classroom. As part of this topic we have been learning about the Highland Games through our PE block every Thursday. I’m sure the children would be more than happy to tell you all about it.
Numeracy & Mathematics: we have recently moved onto a new topic in maths – Fractions. The children are enjoying all of the fun activities and different ways of learning about fractions. We are also reciting our times tables through song, this has been a great success and we are now much more confident in this area.
Science: We are currently learning all about the human body, So far we are able to name most of the important bones in the skeleton and just last week we learned all about the human organs! We are in the process of making life sized diagrams of the human body which has been lots & lots of fun. These diagrams will be displayed in class when complete. We are all looking forward to seeing the finished product.
Primary 3 and 4 Christmas Party
Christmas is Forever
On Monday Primary 3-7 performed our Christmas show – Christmas is Forever over at Brannock High School. The show followed a ‘James Blonde’ theme and followed our very own agents and elves who tried to rescue Santa Claus from Scareymonger and his henchmen after they had kidnapped him. We had a fantastic turnout and our audience was packed. All of the boys and girls performed the show again on Tuesday for the pensioners in the local area.
P2/3 Christmas Concert
We have been working really hard in class and in the hall to learn all of our songs for the Christmas Concert. We can’t wait to perform for our friends and family! Please make sure you have your Christmas jumpers for the performance on Monday 7th of December and Tuesday 8th of December. You can add some ‘Christmas Bling’ if you wish!

Children in Need
This Friday we are raising funds to donate to Children in Need. We are having a non-uniform day for which children should bring £1. We are also going to be playing guess the bears birthday for 50p a guess and holding a raffle at 20p a ticket.
Have a look at the Children in Need website to see some of the worthwhile causes that they support with the money raised.
