The registration of Infant Beginners – Education (Scotland) Act 1980 and 1981. All children must be registered at their local School. In January an announcement is made in the local press giving dates for registration. If a parent wishes his/her child to attend a School out with the local area, information is available at their local School.
The School displays posters regarding Infant Registration during January. Parents are welcome to visit the school before or after registration. Children who are registered in January will receive in invitation to take part in our Induction Programme in May or June. The programme includes information sessions, classroom visits, resource information and curriculum workshops. Details are also given about Baseline Assessment which takes place early in the new term.
Parents are encouraged to visit the school if they are undecided about which school they wish their child to attend. A tour of the school can be provided and any questions answered, to help make a decision. We link with local nursery classes in order we share information and learning already covered.
