Well done to Morgan Sloan.
Morgan completed a two day “Let’s Get Cooking” training course in Glasgow. She will now work alongside Lisa Robertson with primary pupils of various age groups as part of our Enhanced Transition Programme.
Yesterday a group of pupils from St Gerard’s brought their parents’ up to the Home Economics department for a Healthy Eating activity. Lisa Robertson in her role as Enhanced Transition Coordinator has been visiting our primaries and inviting the P7’s to CNHS workshops to encourage Parental Engagement and Family Learning.

I know that trust is a big part of experiencing peace and that fear has no place in my life. Most of the things I worry about or dread don’t even happen. So I’m declaring my trust in you. I’m releasing the reins of my life again and asking you to take control. I may need to pray this same prayer daily, but I’m tired of the frenzy of life that leaves my schedule and my thoughts without any margin. I need more of you, Lord, and less of me.
Our Father…..
School Prayer
Lord, I thank you for bringing me to another day.
May I live it completely for You,
Through you,
With You and in you. Amen
Blessed John Henry Newman, Pray for Us.

Whenever I’m stressed, anxious, or afraid, help me remember to run to you. You’re the only one that can calm my fears and end my fretful behaviour. Whether in trivial or heavy matters, I know you will not only give me peace; Lord, you will be my peace. And when I draw close to you—in prayer, in reading your Word, in helping another, in taking my mind off myself—you will be there.
Our Father …..
School Prayer
Lord, I thank you for bringing me to another day.
May I live it completely for You,
Through you,
With You and in you. Amen

Maker of all, transform my heart through my Lenten journey of prayer, fasting and almsgiving. Help me to see the dignity in all around me, made in your image and likeness. Inspire me to share the fruits of your creation so that all your people can become artisans of their own destiny. Through Christ our Lord, Amen.
Our Father……..
School Prayer
Lord, I thank you for bringing me to another day.

Through you,

Do you realise that the pain and suffering Jesus went through was on account of your own sin? It’s important to acknowledge that humbling fact. It’s important to see a direct connection between His suffering and your sin. But this should not be a cause of guilt or shame, it should be a cause of gratitude. Deep humility and gratitude.
Lord, I thank You for all that You endured in Your holy Passion. I thank You for Your suffering and Cross. I thank You for redeeming suffering and transforming it into a source of salvation. Help me to allow the sufferings I endure to change my life and purge me of my sin. I unite my sufferings to Yours, dear Lord, and pray that You will use it for Your glory. Jesus, I trust in You.

The Desire for Good
God smiles upon us and lavishes rewards upon us for the love we offer to Him and to others. Our works of love, when inspired by His grace, are transformed into treasures in Heaven. But that’s not all that is transformed into treasures. Even our desire to do good and to serve God is transformed. God sees all things, even our smallest sincere desires, and transforms all into grace.
What do you desire in life? What do you long for? Do you find that your desires are attached to sinful acts? Or do you find that your desires and longings are for the good things of Heaven and the works of God. Seek to transform even your desires and you will be richly blessed!
Lord, I offer you my heart and every desire within it. Help me to long for You and for Your holy Will to be fulfilled in this world. May I desire what You desire and long for an abundance of Mercy in our world. Jesus, I trust in You.

The Faculty of Engineering at the University of Strathclyde’s newly-launched 1 week Summer School for S3 girls (entering S4 in June):
Engineering the Future for Girls is being delivered in collaboration with BP and BAM Nuttall and is designed to engage girls in a wide range of engineering challenges that will inspire them to become the next generation of engineers. The summer school is fully-funded by BP and BAM Nuttall and all student costs, including travel, will be covered. Strathclyde will accept applications from girls with any range of subject choices at National 5.
The summer school is non-residential and therefore pupils should be able to make their way each day to the University of Strathclyde campus in the heart of Glasgow City Centre. Teachers are not required to accompany pupils during the week. For the pupils’ convenience, we have arranged for Mentors to accompany pupils from and to Queen Street train station, Glasgow Central train station and Buchanan Bus Station at the start and end of each day.
Pupils should apply at http://www.strath.ac.uk/engineering/outreach/engineeringthefutureforgirls ]http://www.strath.ac.uk/engineering/outreach/engineeringthefutureforgirls using the online application form. The deadline for applications is 10 March 2017. A confirmation email is sent upon receipt of application. The selection panel will meet in late March/early April to review the applications received and all applicants will be informed of the outcome of their application by 7 April 2017.
If you would like any further information on the Summer School then please email: engineeringthefutureforgirls@strath.ac.uk
