Engineering the Future for Girls
Monday 8 – Friday12 June 2020   Â
                                             Â
Engineering the Future for Girls is being delivered in collaboration with BP and BAM Nuttall and is designed to engage girls in a wide range of engineering challenges that will inspire them to become the next generation of engineers. The summer school is fully-funded by BP and BAM Nuttall and all student costs, including a contribution towards travel, will be covered. Strathclyde will accept applications from girls with any range of subject choices at National 5. The summer school is non-residential and therefore pupils should be able to make their way each day to the Strathclyde University Campus in the heart of Glasgow City Centre. Teachers are not required to accompany pupils during the week. For the pupils’ convenience, we have arranged for Mentors to accompany pupils from and to Queen Street train station, Glasgow Central train station and Buchanan Bus Station at the start and end of each day.
Pupils should apply using the online application form available on our website:www.strath.ac.uk/engineering/outreach/engineeringthefutureforgirls

Well done to the 50 girls and 6 staff who completed “The Race For Life” in aid of Cancer Research this morning. An excellent show of committment for a worthy cause.
Don’t forget to hand in sponsor money to Miss Murciano this week.
Tomorrow – Friday June 21 is a non-uniform day.
Children should come appropriately dressed with no football colours or inappropriate slogans. This venture will help boost our School Fund which is used to ensure that all our clubs and activities are free or subsidised as much as possible.
The photobooth was queued out the door with our young people enjoying the experience, cramming as many turns as they could out of the 2 hours available.
This year’s prom was held in The Doubletree by Hilton in Bellshill. It was a fabulous evening of food, dancing and fun with friends.
These photographs were taken of our “Outstanding Learners of The Year” at the 1 +2 Modern Languages award ceremony in the Excelsior Stadium in Airdrie. Well done to all involved.

Yesterday the Social Subjects Department took a group of students on a trip on an open bus tour of Glasgow. Geography, History, the changing face of Glasgow and many more topics were discussed. The pupils had a wonderful time and enjoyed all the new experiences.
