It’s been a fantastic year in Cardinal Newman High School!
This last term has afforded many opportunities for our pupils to celebrate their successes in wider achievement and in attainment. I am very grateful to the staff of the school for the outstanding effort they have made for all of our young people.
To our parents and carers I say thank you for your very positive and generous support for all that we do in school. I hope this newsletter gives you a flavour of what this term has been all about!
Best wishes for a restful holiday.
Parent’s and visitors were treated to a ‘Creative Showcase’ of pupil work before the Prizegiving Cermony last night. Some of the very impressive displays are featured here.
Last night we had a full house of parents, pupils and staff coming together to celebrate the success of our students from S1 to S3. Parent’s and visitors were treated to a show of pupil work in the ‘Creative Showcase’, before a Mass and prizegiving ceremony.
The photos featured here are S1, S2 and S3 Outstanding Achievement Winners.
Can all those on work experience please remember to take a picture of yourself at work and post it onto Mr Conaghan at CConaghan@cardinalnewman.n-lanark.sch.uk
“And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my Church, and the gates of the underworld shall not prevail against it”. (Matthew 16:18)
There is an old saying that there is strength in numbers. To stand alone for a cause is hard, but to stand with a group gives us bravado, purpose and identity. Jesus knew that. He knew that His mission would be accomplished more easily if many individuals banded together as one body to give strength and support to one another.
Do I give active support to the faith communities of my school and parish, or is my involvement in name only?
School Prayer
Lord, I thank you for bringing me to another day.
May I live it completely for You,
Through you,
With You and in you. Amen
Our uniform supplier Logoxpres are offering their services of braiding blazers this year for the total cost of £15.00
If your child has a blazer from S5 which still fits and you do not require to purchase a new S6 blazer and would prefer to pay to have the blazer braided then this option is available to you.
If you would like your childs blazer braided you should hand in the blazer by Monday, 27 June 2015 along with the £15.00
Blazers will be returned to the school in August by Logoxpress for collection by pupils and parents.
Feast of St Anthony of Padua
“The people who sit in darkness have seen a great light, on those dwelling in a land overshadowed by darkness, light has arisen”. (Matthew 4:16)
When do you find yourself preferring darkness to the light of Christ? Can you make some changes to your life that will lead you to the light of Christ?
