Family Learning

The Family Learning Team work in partnership with both Primary and Secondary schools across North Ayrshire to provide opportunities for family learning. Each school has an allocated Family Learning Worker who will work alongside school staff to get to know the individual needs and interests of that school. Our team organise and deliver workshops in schools throughout the year and in the community during school holidays. If there are any particular areas of the curriculum you are interested in, please contact your family learning worker or speak to your child’s head teacher. We are also happy to work with individual families, from a one off meeting to supporting families over a few sessions.

The supports we offer include–

Transition – Moving into Primary 1 and moving on to Secondary.

Curricular Areas – Literacy, Numeracy, Languages, STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths)

Health and Wellbeing – Cooking, Fun clubs, Managing emotions, John Muir Award, RSPB Wildlife challenge.

Adult Learning – Working closely with Ayrshire college and Community Learning and Development.
