Child Protection

We aim to provide an environment in which children and young people will feel safe, secure and cared for, the purpose of this policy below is to provide the staff and parents with guidelines and support on the subject of child abuse and how they can act to assist in the protection of children and young people in the setting.

Loudoun-Montgomery staff adhere to the guidance within North Ayrshire Council’s Standard Circular L3 – Protecting and Safeguarding North Ayrshire’s Children.

We also refer to the following legislation.  A copy of all documents below is available online to view by clicking each link:

The Scottish Government wants Scotland to be the best place in the world for children and young people to grow up so that they become: successful learners, confident individuals, effective contributors, and responsible citizens.  All children and young people (including unborn babies) have the right to be cared for and protected from harm and abuse and to grow up in a safe environment in which their rights are respected and their needs met.  Children and young people should get the help they need, when they need it and their safety is always paramount.  It is everyone’s responsibility to maintain the safety and wellbeing of each and every child.  These people may not have specific parental responsibilities but nonetheless have a duty of care for the child.  This is inclusive of Loudoun-Montgomery staff.
