Parent’s evening
Just a reminder that the above will take place tomorrow from 4pm onwards. We look forward to seeing you. There will be information stalls on the Communication hub as well as changes that we are making to our reporting procedures. We are keen to capture your views as to how else we can help you understand the ways in which our staff assess learning. Following some feedback from some of our parents, we are also very keen to hear how we can continue to capture and promote wider achievements.
Welcome Back
A very warm welcome back from the staff team at Haysholm. We are very much looking forward to the session, with a very full calendar planned as usual. By now you should have received your annual consent forms and thank you very much to those of you who have returned them. If you have not returned them, please can you do so as quickly as possible. As you know outings are very much integral to our curriculum and we need your consent for these.
Thank you.

Welcome Back
A very warm welcome back following the Christmas holidays. I hope you had a restful and peaceful one. We have been super busy already with lots planned prior to the February break. I would like to remind parents and carers to visit our blog and twitter feed on a regular basis to keep up to date with the latest news and events.
Progress is underway for our brand new school. A parent reference group meeting took place prior to the Christmas holidays and today I attended an ASN planning group meeting. NORR architects who designed Craigmarloch have been contracted to develop the concept design that Irene Farris produced. Irene will continue to be involved as she has a really good understanding of the needs of the children across the 4 ASN schools. What is really exciting is that the landscape surrounding the new build will be utilised fully to enhance the educational provision that will be created. There is no doubts that being outdoors enhances the wellbeing of not only our learners but our staff team too 👍
Exciting times …
Yvonne
It’s the Scottish Christmas Donkeys!!
Donkey and Alfie came to visit Haysholm School this afternoon and all the pupils got the chance to come out and meet them. CK decided to take Alfie for a walk! The pupils all had lovely responses to the donkeys, who were very placid for our pupils.
Christmas School Meals
Once again North Ayrshire Council are providing lunches at various schools across the Authority over the Christmas holidays.

The Magical Christmas Jigsaw
What a fantastic performance this morning of ‘The Magical Christmas Jigsaw’. Our children and young people did us proud and at their own level contributed to the performance. As part of our IDL learning this term we are focussing on Performance. Evidence from the nativity and our forthcoming Burns celebration will be collated and put into the learners’ learning journey file. We had very confidential individuals contributing to the nativity through:
Singing
Using Switches
Being independent at the front of the hall in front of the audience
Using single words and sentences to recite a line
Waiting!!
Marching
Signing
Acting!
To name but a few … the list of skills being developed through this theme and participation in the nativity is endless.
The Blair
Learners & staff were invited along to the Blair this morning to receive a cheque for £700. This will go along way to our Mini Bus Fndraising efforts! The money was raised through The Blair running Christmas shopping afternoons!
All learners & staff enjoyed refreshments & biscuits before the handing over of the cheque!
All at Haysholm thank The Blair for their continued support.
