Good morning Skye class!

Good morning Skye class!

I hope you are all well and you had a good weekend! 🙂

For this week I have a challenge for you to do at home.

Do you remember our group time and the days of the week? Days of the week group time

They all have different colours. So every day we are going to learn about different colours and numbers. Remember you can share your findings in our group by taking a photograph or a video.  I am going to share with you too! 🙂

Today is Monday and Monday is red. So we are looking for FOUR RED objects. Can you count how many you have? If you want, you can make a mark on your paper.

Skye class- Earth Day

Good morning Skye class!

I hope you are all well! The weather looks lovely again.Today is Wednesday and it is the EARTH DAY! 🙂 It’s a day that we can all take care of our environment and protect our planet.

Here are some suggestions that you can do at home if you want:

Earth day

Go outside in the garden or for a safe walk and explore the nature. Listen to the birds, touch the trees and smell the flowers.

Try to use less energy and unplug your devices. You can read a book, ride your bike/ scooter, go for a walk, bounce on your trampoline or play with your toys instead.

Help to do recycling and save water while washing the dishes.

Take a big breath and enjoy the sun.

Give a hug to a tree. It’s safe to do so and it has fun! 🙂

Feed the birds:

Grow your own seeds:

Make an Earth collage using green and blue paper from magazines or newspapers.

Here are some Youtube links that you can watch and listen to:

Skye class-picnic

Good morning Skye class!

The weather looks lovely again today and I hope it stays bright and sunny all day.

Tuesday morning is our outing day. I hope we will meet soon and we can enjoy the sunshine together! Until then what about a picnic in the garden?  It is one of the 50 things to do during Term 3. Can you prepare your favourite healthy snack and have a picnic in your garden with your family? You can bring your toys, puzzles, books too, anything you like! I am looking forward to seeing your photos!

Have a lovely day!

Good morning Skye class!

Good morning Skye class 🙂

I hope you are all well and safe!

During Easter break the weather has been lovely and I am sure you had so much fun with you families. It’s nice to see most of you posting your lovely photos on our group and I am sure that all Skye class team is missing you so much. We are all looking forward to seeing you back in school when it’s time! 🙂

Today is our first day “back” after Easter holidays and usually in Skye class we are all relaxed and happy to see each other. I would ask you then if you can make a beautiful picture for your friends and staff in class. You can use your favourite colours, tools, materials to make your picture. I will re-post a learning intention and some templates if you want to use. If not, use your imagination to create something on your own 🙂 Don’t forget to share it on our group! 🙂

With Easter fast approaching I thought I’d post some nice craft ideas to try over the coming weeks.  Just a nice bit of (hopefully!) relaxing fun to share…..! Lots of colours, textures and materials to explore.

If you like some music when doing art (like we do in class!) there are some fun Easter songs at the end of this post too…..

Have lots of fun!  And Happy Easter when it comes…..

Spring Chicks Egg Carton Craft

Okay….. A bit of grown up help is needed here, however the kids could paint the egg box, paint green paint onto paper and perhaps help to cut out.  You could also paint and cut some yellow ducks…. Use any numbers you may have and you have the perfect accessory for the ‘5 little ducks song’! (below)

Five little ducks nursery rhyme craft for kids. Make a simple small world from a recycled egg carton. Perfect for pretend play and acting out the rhyme for toddlers, preschoolers, eyfs.

Happy World Autism Day

Many of the pupils who attend Haysholm are diagnosed with Autism.  The Coronavirus situation is very challenging due to the massive change in routine that it has caused.  If you can create some sense of routine and structure and home, this will help tremendously. Use of visuals will help your child know and understand what is expected of them.

There are some excellent resources on our website in the ‘For Parents’ section that you can use to help support understanding and predictability including the school closure kit.    If you would like a hard copy of this or any other visuals for home, please do not hesitate to get in touch and we can deliver.

Meantime, let’s celebrate the skills, talents, unique abilities that our pupils do have … every single one of them brings a smile to our faces.
