Modern Languages Homework

S1-S3: Pupils generally have a week to revise for short vocabulary tests. Recently created homework menus offer pupils personalisation and choice in their learning as they can pick which tasks they would like to tackle. We always recommend at least 10 minutes every night for vocabulary revision!

S4: Vocabulary tests every few days to consolidate new words covered in class. Pupils are also given reading texts and listening activities to complete. The time pupils spend on their homework varies depending on the task given. We recommend roughly 1 to 1.5 hours a week.

S5/6:  Similarly to S4, pupils are asked to learn key words and phrases covered in class which they are tested on every few days. Pupils also need to complete a range of reading, listening and writing activities each week.  Depending on the work set pupils are expected to spend on average 2 hours a week on their home learning for languages.
