The course contains two elements:
Performing and Understanding Music.
PERFORMING SKILLS
A live performance is required on two instruments / voice lasting 15 minutes. This will be examined in May by a visiting external examiner appointed by the Scottish Qualifications Authority. The exam is out of 60 marks.
UNDERSTANDING MUSIC
There is an examination for Advanced Higher candidates which takes place during the main SQA examination diet in May or June and is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes in length. The exam is out of 40 marks.
