Homework Expectations (each year group)
S1-S3 BGE Pupils are expected to attempt and complete around 3 ‘Home Learning’ Tasks/Activities within each ‘Unit’ of the Course/Programme. Usually about 2 ‘Practical’ Tasks and 1 ‘Literacy’ or Written Task.
S4 and S5/6 Pupils following courses at N3, N4 or N5 or Higher are required or expected to make a great deal of personal commitment. Homework Tasks are fairly frequent and there is the ‘added’ responsibility of Class Coursework. Practical work should be completed in class ‘period by period’ and ‘week to week’, if work or progress falls behind pupils are expected to be responsible and do at home. The written assignments are initiated in class and an appropriate amount of time (2 periods) is allocated for Tasks on a weekly basis. Once again if a deadline is imminent and some tasks are incomplete – pupils are expected to be conscientious/responsible and complete at home.
In the event of absence/illness pupils are expected to ‘make up’ the time lost by checking what has been covered /completed in class and then ‘catching up’ at home.
