The N4 course is all internally assessed and consists of the following:
Composing Skills
Create original music by:
- Developing musical ideas to create a piece of music.
- Reflecting on the music and the creative choices.
Performing Skills
Perform music in a range of music styles by:
- Developing musical and technical skills in two sections of music at Grade 2/N4 level for both instruments/voice
- Identifying strengths and areas for improvement in own performances.
Understanding Music
Recognise and identify music concepts and styles by:
- Identifying N4 music concepts in excerpts of music.
- Identifying the social and cultural influences that have influenced specific music styles.
- Identifying and recognising the meaning of music signs, symbols and terms (N4 literacy).
