Using Microsoft Teams

Our main way of providing direct links with the learners and to deliver live lessons is through the Microsoft Teams application.  Please note that the Glow version of Teams is more limited than what you might get if you paid for Teams yourself or from other versions given by other employers. This is because Education Scotland has built in more security features to protect children when online.

Teams is a Microsoft windows application but does work on other devices.   Whether you access it through a weblink or a downloaded app, the choice of device can also change what can be done.  Some advice about this can be found in our Technical help section.

Please note:

If more that one child is using the same device or indeed sharing a device with their parents,  then conflicting information from various Microsoft accounts can occur.  This is because your computer, tablet or mobile phone saves some settings when you set up Teams. So even when you think you are linked correctly,  it may not recognise you correctly. Similarly,  if you have logged on to Glow via various different devices and mobile apps,  stored passwords can also conflict,  especially when you have just updated your Glow password.

The best advice to give is to regularly make sure that you are clearing cached (stored) cookies and links you may have on different devices.

A handy guide to Teams for parents can be found by clicking here.
