Outdoor Learning

Outdoor Provision at Binnie Street

All our children have the freedom of choice to move between the indoor and the outdoor environment. The children have the opportunity to explore our wonderful natural environment and access high quality outdoor play and learning opportunities throughout the year

Our environment provides the children with opportunities to develop skills to assess and manage risk and have the support to develop their physical skills through movement and energetic play.

The children have the chance to grow and eat their own produce for example potatoes, rhubarb, carrots and onions. This type of outdoor play helps the children develop their skills for learning, working and living in a complex and changing world.

Our outdoor classroom has been a wonderful addition to our outdoor environment. It has supported us to further develop STEM into the curriculum, allowing children to experience woodwork activities using real tools and other science related topic.
