  1. I love travelling to new places and discovering different cultures and learning about the history of the area.
Since learning about the Romans in school I have been desperate to go to Rome to see the collisseum and the other amazing buildings that have years of history. The Trevi fountain would also be amazing to see

    1. What a fantastic post Libby! Full of detail and well written! I was lucky enough to visit Rome last year and it was wonderful! I really liked my visit to ancient Rome where we visited the seven hills and learned about the gladiators in the Collosseum which was really interesting! I was fascinated by our visit to the Vatican. The works of art were out of this world and the Sistine Chapel was something else entirely. I’d thoroughly recommend it. One of my favourite things to do was sit at the top of the Spanish Steps with a gelato and watch the world go by!

      1. My Papa was also very impressed with the Vatican and the Sistine Chapel. He went to Rome for the day when he was away on a cruise.

  2. The one place I would love to go to is Venice, after reading a couple of books that are set in Venice.

I think it is amazing how a town can exist on water. I know that there are no cars there and they travel around by boat. I would like to see how their lifestyles work! I have seen photographs and the buildings and bridges are beautiful.

I am so lucky that in the summer I am going to Italy and we are planning a day trip down to Venice!!! I will definitely make sure that I have my camera with me on that day!!!

    1. You are very lucky going to Italy this summer.
I will look forward to seeing the pictures that you post with your new camera

  3. I would like to go to Paris again and go up the Eiffel tower because the last time I did I was only a baby, I also can’t wait to go to Holland

    1. I loved Paris Grace and really looking forward to going back again at Easter time.

My Mums friend lives in Paris so when we go she is like our tour guide and takes us to all the nice places.

The day we went up the Eiffel tower it was freezing and we had to stand for ages waiting on the lift. I don’t like heights much but the view was amazing.

  4. ✈️I would love to go to Spain or Florida because they are always so sunny☀️ not at all like in Scotland☔️
Although I have already been to Florida I was only there for a week so we didn’t get to do much (but we still manged to go to Disney land and universal studios)
Spain is a really cool place or so I’ve heard but I am desperate to go but we will have to wait a while because in September we are going to America

      1. I can’t believe your little sister is going to school, Libby.Florida is something to look forward to.I think your mum is right…..much better to be older and tall enough for the rides!

      2. I would love to start my travels with a trip to London and visit London Zoo, the Tower of London and particularly the Observatory in Greenwich, as you know I’m fascinated by space. But that would just be the beginning of my hoped for explorations of the world.

Like Libby I’d need a well paid job to be able to visit all the places I would like to go.

    1. You are so right! Somewhere sunny and hot is often all you need to relax! However, I really like it when you can visit somewhere and learn about a country’s culture; trying new foods and learning a bit of their language!

  5. I would love to go to Disney World because all of the Disney characters like Cinderella and Beauty and the Beast. It is also nice and sunny and hopefully one day I will go there before too long.

    1. Disneyland is always a dream destination for many! I’d like to visit Florida so that I could go to the Harry Potter studios and try the butterbeer and walk along Diagon Alley! Thank you for your first post Faith!

  6. If you could visit anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?

I would like to go to China because they have loads of good foods and I would like to see the land marks like the great wall of China. Also, the carnivals sound good with all the dragons and fire works and I would like to see which animal I am from the Chinese calender.

    1. I had family who, until recently, lived in China! Their culture is so different to ours! Did you know that a regular food is chicken feet? I too would love to visit the Great Wall!

  7. If I could go any where I would go to Italy because
    1) I would love to see the Leaning Tower of Pisa as everyone makes it sound amazing. How many towers tip and stay standing also imagine learning a new thing everyday about the Italian culture.
    2) I love both the foods that originate from Italy and they are pasta and pizza I love trying new pizza toppings and the latest thing I have tried is hot pineapple I recommend it.

I am also exited about going to Holland with Grace I’m sure I will be able to report back about the Dutch culture

    1. I have never been to Holland – I look forward to your stories and photographs!
Ham and pineapple pizza is delicious!
Thank you for your detailed post Orla!

    2. Because I am doing Italy for Europe day I have found out lots about it and would love to go there as well to see the leaning tower of Pisa or maybe I could visit Venice and ride on a boat everywhere.
I also can’t wait for holand

  8. If I could visit anywhere it would be Italy because of the wonderful food like pizza, pasta and ice cream. I would also visit Italy so that I could see the leaning tower of Pisa.

    1. Mmmm! Italian food is one of my favourite! I understand the appeal of visiting Italy! I have a picture to show you of when I visited the Leaning Tower of Pisa!

  11. If you could visit anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?

I would love to go to San Francisco. I would love to see the Golden Gate Bridge and also to visit Alcatraz prison on Alcatraz Island . San Francisco Chinatown looks amazing too where the Transamerica Pyramid is (the eighth largest building in the world). 🙂

    1. Your knowledge of these places impress me Ross! I think Alcatraz would be really interesting! I’d love to learn of all the different foiled escape attempts! The view from Golden Gate bridge, I imagine would be wonderful! Please tell me more a the Transamerica Pyramid? I’ve never heard of it!

      1. Don’t know that much about it really it just a really tall skyscraper building in Chinatown and only two of its 18 elevators reach its top floor and the building 853feet high.

  12. I ❤ visiting different places. One place I would love to go to is West America for it features the Grand Canyon and I could get a helicopter ride through it. It looks amazing!!! I would also ❤ to visit Las Vegas and stay in one of those fancy hotels! A bit of an extreme holiday! There is also a Disneyland and a universal studios in Los Angeles and some of the world’s most famous beaches are there.

I hope I’ll get there some day!!!

    1. I was lucky enough to visit America for the first time a couple of years ago. We stopped in New York for a few days which was amazing – it felt like we were on a film set. I loved the Rockefeller centre at night because the views across the city were magical. We then flew to Las Vegas for a few days and stayed in the MGM Grand. The highlight was walking through all the beautiful hotels – especially The Bellagio. There’s also a rollercoaster that comes out of the New York-New York which was fun! Our third stop was Arizona to visit family and we spent a day at the Grand Canyon

      1. I would love the see pictures. You must have had a great time. I have been to America before but just not that part. It was amazing!!!

  13. I would pick America because my cousins live there and I have never been so I can’t wait to go and see what America is like. And I would love to go to Egypt to see the cursed tombs [especially Tutankhamuns and the rest ]. Hopefully one day I will be able to also go to the Great Wall of China too. :] by Hollie

    1. Thank you for your post Hollie! I’ve been to Egypt but only to the touristy beach part. The pyramids fascinate me but I have a feeling I would be too scared to visit the tombs! My highlight from visiting Egypt was riding a camel in the desert – a new experience for me! I was nervous as they are known for being temperamental!

  14. Wow P 6 you are all very well travelled ! I’ve really enjoyed reading all of your posts and Mrs McKay is right to say that you are really developing your Literacy skills too. I wondered if anyone has been to France and tried out their language skills? Even though you’ve just started learning French it is amazing what you can actually understand and a great way to learn a language is to be in the place where it is spoken ! Now that we are all learning French right from P1 this should help everyone have much more confidence in learning about other languages and cultures too. I hope you are encouraging the younger ones in Gourock Primary with their French and telling them that the world really is their oyster too ! And remember how lucky you are to have such an inspiring teacher as Mrs Falconer who offers you such innovative ways to learn. Keep up the good work. Bonne Chance ! Mrs Cannon

  15. I. Would love to visit Paris because I would get to see the Eiffel tower, eat croissant and go to The Parc des Princes to watch Paris Saint-Germain play football.

  16. I would love to go to Italy to see the Roman Colosseum and to go and see a Juventus game in Turin. I would love to climb to the top of the tower in Pisa because I would like to see the amazing views. It would be great to go on a gondola in Venice, watching all the boats and water taxis on the canals as they sail past.
There is also a really breathtaking town called Manarola which is built on the side of a cliff and the houses are all different colours, I would like to walk round the town to see how close to the edge they are. There are no cars allowed in the town because they would probably fall off the cliff. I would also like to stuff my face with nice Italian ice cream

  17. I enjoy travelling to different countries and cities in the UK. As I get older I hope to have visited lots of countries.

Lots of people have said that Hawaii is a great place to go and I have seen it on television programs. I thought that it would be a great holiday to go on and a beautiful place to see, especially as the weather is suppose to be really sunny and perfect. I would like to experience the Hawaiian way of life, their food and would like to try and surf.

As I am in guides we are going on a trip to Paris for a few days I love Paris and also the Eiffel tower. We are also going to spend one day in Disneyland. I am really excited to go again.

When I am older I would like to go to California to meet a famous youtuber Bethany Mota.

I hope that I will have enough money to pay for the trip.

  18. If I were to go any place in the world it would be Paris, France. I picked Paris because of there superb croissants. I would visit the Eiffel Tower and see the spectacular views of the city of light, have fun in Disney land and watch PSG play.
