The 10 Pieces event was an exciting experience for S1 to S3 who play musical instruments. The school orchestra club had been practising two music pieces for about two weeks before the performance. Those pieces were Ride of the Valkyries and Mambo from West Side Story. It was an experience to remember as we played with some of the members from the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra.

The beginning of the day was an improvisation workshop that the members of the BSSO lead.  Students from WHS were selected to participate in this workshop and use both their instruments and their hands and feet to make music. They showed them different warm-ups. For the Big Noise kids who didn’t have their instruments, they gave them different instruments instead.

The second part of the day was focused on practicing for the concert at the end of the day. The concert was shown to S1s and they enjoyed it a lot. It was a great experience for everybody including the S1s that watched.
