Glasgow Science Centre

Earlier this year, a group of S1 pupils were selected by the science teachers to go on an amazing trip to the Glasgow science centre. All the students were “Stars of Science” and were accompanied by Dr McRobbie and Mrs Andrews.

The trip’s itinerary consisted of:
Tutor group 9:00 – 9:15
Bus journey 9:15 – 10:15
Explore the centre 10:15 – 12:30
Lunch 12:30 – 1:15
Shop 1:15 – 1:30
Science show 1:30 – 2:00
Bus ride home 2:00 – 3:00
Sixth period 3:00 – 3:30
The science show was definitely the best bit of the trip as we got to see things such as a floating super conductor, a fire tornado, an invisible bottle and more. Also you get to miss almost all of the school day! Some of the best parts in the centre are a human sized hamster wheel, an Xbox Kinect game about being a booger and even a game where you use your mind to push a ball, and all of this was on a single floor.
The day was phenomenal and I definitely recommend staying ahead in science so that you can go, it is definitely worth it. I have always thought about being a scientist but now I am certain. Being able to do these incredible things and being able to benefit mankind is a pretty amazing thought.
