Our School has been open since August 2011, we were so proud to have four schools; Hillhead, Dowanhill, Kelvinhaugh and Willowbank that were brought together to create the wonderfully vibrant community that we have now.
In this time we have retained the ‘Guiding Principles’ of RESPECT, SHINE and EXPLORE (represented on our school badge) alongside our four school values Respect, Honesty, Courage and Fairness.
We feel that now is the right time to pause and reflect on how our school community should be represented once again. We want to include all of our key stakeholders in this process, pupils, parents and staff. We would be delighted if you were able to take time to help us find a 5th Value to add to the four strong ones we already have and in time provide your views that will guide us to develop a new school Vision.
All classes now display a poster of our existing values. Pupils have also completed a lesson which encouraged discussion of the meaning of our existing values and an opportunity to suggest a possible 5th Value. You can view the content of this lesson here. Staff have been involved in creating a shortlist of possible values from the suggestions received.
We will have a stall set up during both of our Parent Evenings (Thursday 26 March and Tuesday 31 March) and we would invite all parents and carers to visit the stall to hear a little more about the work we have been doing and to help us determine what our 5th Value will be.
