Junior Road Safety Officers – JRSOs

In Scottish primary schools, JRSO stands for Junior Road Safety Officer. This program involves selecting pupils, typically in P6 or P7, to promote road safety within the school and the wider community. These students take on responsibilities like setting up noticeboards, delivering presentations, and organising road safety campaigns and competitions.

At Hillhead Primary we have three JRSOs who are from Primary 6.

The JRSO program is supported by a designated teacher or staff member who acts as a coordinator.
