After learning about the planets in our solar system and the sun, P2b used chalk pastels to create these images of planets. P2b also learned about the phases of the moon and are able to describe what each phase looks like. Well done P2b.

It was a short week last week but we still found time to get lots of learning done and have some fun. We are still working on our recount writing and making sure we are including some details in our writing. In maths we were using compass points and our angles knowledge to be able to follow directions. We began learning about where the Viking’s came from and where they invaded. Lastly we had a visit from one of the staff from Golf it and had fun practising our golf skills. ⛳️

It’s been a short but busy week in P4a! We’ve learned all about the eight points of a compass and used our new skills to create treasure maps. We then wrote detailed instructions on how to find the buried treasure. In our topic work, we explored the first Viking raid on Lindisfarne. We also had a fantastic time at our Golf It session today!

We are now about to begin our new topic which is ‘The Vikings

Primary 1 have been lucky enough to not only to have had one visitor this week but three.
On Tuesday, Mrs Cattley came to visit with her baby son to talk to us about how to look after a baby. The children got to say hello to the baby and ask great questions which Mrs Cattley was happy to answer.
We also had Maggie in from PATHS, our health and well-being programme, to talk to us about our emotions and understanding that it is ok to feel overwhelmed sometimes and that is just our bodies telling us that it is experiencing a number of different emotions at the same time.
Finally, we got to meet the dental hygienist and nurse who looked at our teeth.
A big thank you to all our visitors.

We enjoyed having the play leaders from Smithycroft in working with us on Monday. Keep up the great work p5a!

This week we’ve been absolutely nailing procedural writing, creating detailed sets of instructions for games and recipes.
Our golf game continues to improve, and we’re now capable of playing short rounds over longer distances.
In numeracy we’ve been using protractors to accurately measure angles, and draw triangles from given specifications.
First at stem I really enjoyed doing the balloon car and air force. Also it was fun to do the video of the character movie .It was fun and the characters were quite good and funny. Then most of the people in our class did the electricity experiment. They had to make a circuit it was quite cool. Secondly we got to make our own design with paper and we got to put magnets on the paper and it is so cool when it is done. We also got to do gym and it was fun because of the coach leaders, they played football games and Ollie Ollie octopus as well. Also all of p5 are doing a showcase it is going well so far the dancing and the singing is amazing. The parents are coming to see us perform on the 21st of February 2025 .We all are very excited to perform on stage.
