A few updates on things happening in school before the next Merrylee Messenger.
P5 Photography skills
This term, P5 have been improving their photography skills using their iPad cameras. They have looked at how to frame their photo, using the rule of thirds and how different angles can change the perspective of the photo.
Here are the incredible results.
Eco Committe Biodiversity Fact Files
Eco Committee
♻️🌍🦜🐛🐞🦋🐝
The Eco Committee have been busy!
They have been making biodiversity posters. We have spotted many of these birds, insects and animals that share our playground during eco meetings. We wanted to create posters to help everyone learn a bit more about them and encourage everyone to look out for our visitors🦜
They are now installed on the fence at the Urban Jungle, and we hope the children enjoy using them!

2p Challenge
Digital Leaders 2p Challenge
Help us raise funds for class headphones. The Digital Leaders would like you to dig deep and send in any spare 2ps you have.
Each class has until 5th May to bring as many 2ps as they can in preparation for our “DigiDay”. The class who raises the most will receive a special DigiDay prize.
School Closure
SCHOOL CLOSED TOMORROW – Fri 25th Jan
Glasgow City Council has taken the decision to close all schools and nurseries.
“Due to #StormÉowyn all our Schools and Council Nurseries will be closed tomorrow (Friday 24 January 2025).”
Please see email from Education Director, Douglas Hutchison that was issued to schools this afternoon. (We will not be providing home learning as it is too short notice to collate this information to all pupils and families.)
P3 Stop Motion
Last term P3 were busy creating Stop Motion as part of their Digital and Science learning.
It was a lot of hard work, but the children rose to the occasion and worked in teams to create models, sets and film using the app Zing Studio.
Have a look at our animations. We think they’re great!
