Last session, one of our parents, Gillian, a local artist, ran a competition for the children to create a school mural for one of our walls, to turn it from drab to fab.
The entries were of such a high standard, Gillian decided to combine lots of different ideas from children across school. The children had to create a piece of art based on the local area and every class is represented.
Last week Gillian was able to put all of the ideas and turn them into a masterpiece. It brightens up the once very boring wall now everyday we get to walk past something to make us all smile.
Here is the finished artwork. What a masterpiece! We are so grateful to Gillian for giving up her time to help us make our school look so much better! We love it. 🥰
Last week, P2 to P7 showcased their learning in the Emotion Works programme.
Emotion Works from their website:
“The Emotion Works programme and organisation is a longstanding resource in Scottish Education supporting schools, nurseries and specialist services to deliver high-quality and impactful Social Emotional Learning for all.“
Each stage had the chance to present their work to a different class at school, and then parents/carers came along to learn about the different cogs and how they help regulate our emotions.
Every class presented a brilliant selection of their work. Thank you to all the children for speaking so articulately and to the teachers for helping us learn about our emotions. A big thank you to Miss Murray who organised the day for everyone.
Primary 6 joined a live online session as part of AI in Scottish Schools Week.
The lesson introduced pupils to the exciting world of robotics and artificial intelligence.
We learned about the technology that allows robots to move, sense their surroundings and make decisions.
The class explored examples of robots used in different areas of life, including robots that help in schools, support doctors in hospitals and assist firefighters in dangerous situations.
It was a fascinating session that encouraged the children to think about how technology and AI may shape jobs and problem-solving in the future. 🤖

This term, P5 have been improving their photography skills using their iPad cameras. They have looked at how to frame their photo, using the rule of thirds and how different angles can change the perspective of the photo.
