If you are applying for medicine, dentistry, veterinary science, Law or any course at Oxford or Cambridge, you must see your Pastoral Care Teacher immediately as your application is needed much sooner than the dates given below.
You will also need to complete online competency tests for these courses. UCAT Aptitude tests and LNAT __________________________________________
August 2021 UCAS process begins. Students should start to fill in their online application form at:

Deadline for first draft of personal statement to be given to PT Pastoral Care.
- Friday 22nd October 2021
Deadline for second draft of personal statement to be given to PT Pastoral Care.
- Friday 19th November 2021
Deadline for third draft of personal statement to be given to PT Pastoral Care
Friday 3rd December 2021-all forms to be sent to UCAS
FILLING IN THE UCAS APPLICATION FORM
- If you are applying for Law you need to sign up and do the LNAT test.
- If you are doing Medicine, vet science etc.. you need to do the UCAT tests.
- When it asks about “nominated access” in Student support section please put in your parents’ details. It is worthwhile filling it in in case they cannot get in contact with you personally.
- Please put in your parents’ occupational backgrounds. If you are the first in your family to go to university then this helps the selectors and will help you get in to university. They want to see people who have progressed and have done well for their family. We keep all these details confidential and I assure you that they will not be discussed.
- Student finance. You will have to apply for student finance.

Adding the Reach programme to your UCAS application for 2022 entry
It is important to mention that you are participating on the Reach Programme on your UCAS application!
The Reach Programme can be mentioned in two sections of your application:
- Education
- Personal Statement
- In this section list the schools you have attended then click on ‘> add qualifications’ and add all of your School qualifications as you have them.
Once you have added all of your School qualifications, add your Reach qualification.
- Click “add qualification” and type “other” into the search box at the top
- Choose “Other (UK Qualification)”
Type the details of the course manually in this section:

- Subject / title: Reach Programme
- Qualification date: June 2022
- Awarding organisation: UofG
- Result: <leave blank> if no drop down list or choose ‘Pending’ if there is one.
Note: If you are reapplying to one of the Reach professions then your qualification date will be ‘June 2016’ or earlier depending on when you left school and the result would be ‘Pass’
