P4 & the Festivals of Light
We have been learning about how different religions celebrate and think about light. We explored the Hindu story of Rama & Sita, how everyone lay lamps and candles to show them the way home. We made these amazing clay divas that Hindus light during Diwali to remind them of this story. P4 at our first concert!
We went to see Duncan and the rest of the RSNO playing at the Royal Concert Hall. They played some new tunes and some that we’ve been learning about like Hall of the Mountain King and The Aquarium We had lots of fun playing minecraft there, looking out for a run-away creeper and watching all the different musicians play together. Our Christmas Fair
Last Friday we held our annual Christmas Fair. What a fantastic success it was. We even had a special visit from Santa! Thank you for everyone who came along and made it such a fabulous day. Primary 2 Penny Post
This term as part of their money topic Primary 2 are taking part in a Christmas Enterprise Project – The Penny Post. This project helps students to set up a delivery service within school. P4 Inside Maths!?
We have been learning about different ways to show information like Carroll Diagrams and bar charts. We even made a human Carroll diagram: We chose where to stand depending on whether we were a boy/girl and aged 7/aged 8 Bar charts are tricky so we are trying different ones to get some practice, even smarties can be organised in a graph!!

Sing Off Victory!!!
Our choir won the second annual ‘Sing Off” at Tron St. Mary’s Church yesterday morning. Judges included our local councillor, the former Moderator of the Church of Scotland, Greggs manageress and Slimming World’s Slimmer of the Year. Three local choirs participated and a wonderful time was had by all. Thank you to all family members who supported us by attending as well as our Star Pupils, Captains and Vice Captains.

Carnival of the (p4) Animals!
We have been learning about Camille Saint-Saens. He is a composer which is like an author but for music. He wrote music about different animals called Carnival of the Animals. Choir News!
The choir will be going to Tron St. Mary’s on Thursday 24th November at 10am to participate in our second annual choir ‘sing off’. This was an enormous success last year and we would like to invite family and friends of the choir members to show their support by joining us in the audience. Choir practice will take place on Tuesday this week and there will be no club on Thursday.
