Day 17 – Forest Bathing
Time to relax! Find a quiet place to be alone with your thoughts for a while and let yourself be rejuvenated by nature. Hope you all enjoyed your long weekend.
Day 16 – Constrained Sprints
Time to get motivated and get some exercise! Have a go at our constrained sprints to learn more about how your body works. Have fun and please send us a video clip or two on social media.
Day 15 – Magic Number Square
Challenge 15 and the magic number is 15. Can you fit the numbers 1 to 9 into a 3×3 grid with each row or column adding up to the magic number. Its a lot harder than it sounds. Hope you all have a great weekend!
Day 14 – Build a Dam
Good morning! Today’s challenge is to build a dam. A fun interactive activity that blends some science, technology and can lead to some interesting discussions about the sociopolitical implications of dam building. Please send us some pictures of your creations.
Day 13 – Make Leaves Count
Good morning everyone, what a beautiful day! Today we’re looking at some numeracy skills outside using leaves as a fun resource to help us. Now that the seasons have officially turned and we are past the equinox, you will probably notice a lot more leaves on the ground and can admire the amazing range of colours too. Why not make a palette and count how many shades of each colour that you can find? Remember to send us some pictures!
Day 12 – How to Make a Map
Today’s fun is to have a go at making a map. Understanding how maps work is an important life skill that enables us to explore our environment effectively and helps to develop spacial awareness. Please share your maps with us on social media!
Day 11 – Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
We hope you had a good weekend and enjoyed the great weather! We are now into our third week of the Blairvadach 30 Day Challenge. Thank you for all of the feedback and interactions you are giving us on social media. Today we are looking at the very topical issue of Environmental Sustainability through Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. Here is a game to help you get your young people thinking about this concept.
Day 10 – The World Compass
Today it’s time to learn about the cardinal directions, North, East, South and West. Here is a fun game that you can enjoy outside. You can also develop the game to include other aspects of the geography curriculum such as enironments where different animals live. Have fun and let us know how you get on via social media.
Day 9 – How to Measure the Height of a Tree
A bit of fun science and maths today learning how to measure the height of a tree and you don’t even need to climb it! Send us a picture and let us know how high your tree is.
Day 8 – Bug Shake Down
Time to get close to nature! We love this activity and so do the young people. This activity will help foster a greater appreciation and understanding of the natural world. Get in touch with @BlairvadachMr_T on Twitter if you need help to identify anything.

Day 3 – Mini Shelter Building
Today is day 3 of our #30DayChallenge. Can you build a shelter capable of keeping a small cuddly toy or action figure dry and safe from the weather? Try different materials to see what works best and take a picture or video clip of the results. We love hearing from you so please continue to let us know how you are getting on via social media.
Day 2 – Playground Workout
Stay fit and healthy whilst enjoying an outdoor space! Use the 10 workout cards to complete a circuit in your local park or playground. You could team up with a friend or relative to help you get motivated or just challenge yourself. Maybe you can invent some of your own exercises?
