Home Learning – Day 10

10 days of fabulous work, and 10 days of missing you all lots!

“Life is a journey to be experienced, not a problem to be solved.”- Winnie the Pooh.

Lets try to enjoy this journey as much as possible, while spending it with the people we love! ❤️

Alvina has been working hard and making sure she still looks as cute as ever while doing it! ✍🏼

Rida has been doing lots of colouring, then playing cards with her brother. 🎨🃏

Inayah’s dad sent these amazing pictures of her. She is practicing some fantastic life skills by hoovering the living room, then baking some yummy cake (Dad said she ate most of it herself! Don’t worry Inayah, I would have as well! 😉🍰). Lastly she is settling down after all her hard work with some pizza to watch the infants YouTube videos. 😍

In order to keep myself busy, I made some chocolate cookies, they were delicious!! (I also ate most of them myself 🍪😂)

I’ve also been giving my family lots of laughs and frights with my face-masks. It is important to remember to look after yourself at this time as well, self love is extremely important!

Keep all these amazing pictures coming in, I LOVE them! 📸

Home Learning – Day 9

Another day, and we are all still amazing!

Sam’s mum sent me some pictures of him working hard! He completed some maths calculations then he sits down to enjoy watching the videos posted on the infants YouTube Channel. (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCh5GQLl6kdUmUJFwGaO-ijg)

Another rainbow added to my families window. My youngest niece decided to paint an amazing rainbow onto her living room window. 📸

Please remember to keep sending in your pictures. It puts a massive smile on my face when I get to see what you’ve been doing, and we can put them onto the blog to let your friends see what you’ve been doing as well!  gw19grahamclaire@glow.ea.glasgow.sch.uk

Literacy:

Todays literacy task is comprehension. Comprehension is checking how much of the story/text did you understand. Have a go at reading these pieces of text and answer the questions.

Maths:

For maths today, if you can, print off the dice and have a go at adding the numbers together (just like we do in class).

Science:

Try this exciting science experiment with Mr Forshaw and let me know how you get on! 📸

Music:

Clare has recorded herself singing our infants song. Let me hear you joining in! 📸

Today’s story is Yoga Babies read by Mrs Creevy. Let me see if you are able to join! 📸

Home Learning – Day 8

I hope everyone had an amazing weekend!

I’ve been sent some amazing pictures from parents to show what you have been doing, and I LOVE it!!

Keep all of your pictures coming in. 📸

Shahmir and Shanzy have doing lots and it all looks like so much fun! They have been doing some gardening with mum, learning how to clean and tidy, and even doing some crafting! Lastly they all snuggled up together to watch Miss Bull’s YouTube story before bed.

Ajwa made a bird’s nest. Her crafting skills are fantastic! She has even been making some YouTube videos to help inform people while putting a big smile on their face!

Rida’s mum found some dolls she had when she was younger, and Rida had so much fun playing with them. She has also made sure to stay fit and healthy by doing some Just Dance videos.

I’ve been making sure I am staying in contact with my family as much a possible. I am missing them so much but it is so important to stay at home during this time and we can have a massive hug when it is all over.

My nephew Sam (who you have all heard lots about) was showing me his fort that he made using old recycled bottles. Why don’t you all try to make a castle using the recycling that’s being collected at home. 📸

My sister and niece painted an amazing rainbow onto their window to show support for the NHS and everyone out working at this time. You could maybe draw a rainbow and stick it onto your window. 📸

Maths Task for today:

Fact Families worksheet with answers and you could try and self correct your own work: Fact Families

Literacy Task for today:

Try to put these letters into alphabetical order: Alphabetical Order

Some fun for today:

Miss Milne has used the paint she made last week to make some germ monsters. Try and give it a go! 📸

Mr Corrigan has also recorded some guided meditation, give this a go at the end of the day to calm and relax your body.

Today’s story: can you keep count?

Hoping to see you all again soon, miss you all lots!

Home Learning – Day 5

A full week = completed!!! 🎉

Well done, I am so proud of every single one of you for doing so well at this strange time.

Reminder to PLEASE keep in touch, I am missing everyone so much and would love to see what you have been getting up to at home: 📸📸📸gw19grahamclaire@glow.ea.glasgow.sch.uk

Remember, all tasks are fun ideas of what you can complete at home to keep you busy, do not feel pressured to complete them. A duvet day in pyjamas with lots of chat and cuddles is also just as important! 📸

As yesterday’s book was about the perfect pet, you could advertise for your own perfect pet.

What would it look like? What colour would it be? What noise would it make? You could draw a picture of what you would like it to look like with labels (just like in the book) and send it to me. 📸

I will also design my perfect pet and post it once it’s completed.📸

I have also attached a doubles worksheet if you would like another maths task to complete.

Ladybird Doubles

The infant’s YouTube channel is packed with lots of different activities you could try out at home.

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCh5GQLl6kdUmUJFwGaO-ijg

Here is Miss Milne making her own paint, you could try this out and create some amazing pieces of art. I look forward to seeing what you will create! 📸❤️

Or you could even watch Mrs Creevy making some yummy Rice Krispy treats… I think I will give this one a go!!

Today’s story book is read by the wonderful Miss Bull. I wonder if you could make your own den, just like Tilly? 📸

Missing you all lots!

Home Learning – Day 4

Sorry for the later blog post, my YouTube video took a lot longer to upload than I thought.

Another day, and I bet you are all still working very hard!

All things on the blog are just helpful things to do, and do not feel like you need to get them all done. Make the most of the time at home with your family and give lots of hugs!

It is really important at this time to keep in contact with each other, please keep me updated on how you are getting on and send me pictures of what you have been doing to keep busy!

gw19grahamclaire@glow.ea.glasgow.sch.uk

I finally finished my jigsaw and felt very proud of myself for having the resilience to complete it…it took me a LONG time!

Rida is keeping herself busy by having a picnic after her lunch and creating her own shop.

Another thing you could be doing while you’re at home is write a movie/tv review.

For every movie or programme you watch, write a review and let me know if I should watch it or not. Can’t wait for your recommendations!

Movie/ TV Review

Title:

Genre: (comedy/documentary/animated/sports/action)

Star Rating: (rate it out of 5 stars)

Plot: (What happened in the movie/show?)

Characters: (What characters were in the movie/show?)

Would you recommend it to anyone else? (Who and why?)

Today’s Book is Wanted: The Perfect Pet.

The infants department have set up a YouTube channel where we are all able to upload stories for you.

Home Learning – Day 3

Hello Primary 2!

Still missing you lots and trying to keep myself busy! Here what’s I’ve been doing to keep my brain active when I’m not doing school work.

I’ve been doing a jigsaw at night after I have my dinner to help with my problem solving skills.
I have also been colouring in during the day to help keep my fine motor skills strong.

Rida and Azeem have also been colouring to keep their fine motor skills strong!

Keep sending pictures so we can stay in contact with each other and share the amazing things we are doing at home.

Here is the resource we use in class to practice our sounds, common words and tricky words.

Sounds Powerpoint – Click to view presentation style and it should change slides automatically. There are spelling words within the comments section of each sound if you want to use them. 🙂

Phonics- Sounds PowerPoint

This is a useful YouTube Video to help with how they should sound.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U2HYM9VXz9k

Some of the sounds are not covered in this video, however the YouTube channel “Mr T’s Phonics” and anything he does with “Geraldine the Giraffe” should be helpful for the other sounds.

Common and Tricky Words Powerpoint- This is useful to test your common and tricky words, don’t worry if you don’t get them all, we are still learning lots of them!

Tricky and Common Words PowerPoint

Today’s Story is by another familiar face! Enjoy!

I’ll also attach your Sumdog log in details again to help with online learning.

Keep up all of the good work!

Remember to please keep in touch, sending lots of pictures of what you have been doing at home, I am missing you all so much!

Can’t wait to see you all again.

A week full of learning!

Well done to everyone who had an amazing parents night, you are all superstars!

In PE we are still focusing on ball skills and different ways of moving the ball. We practiced rolling the ball to see if we could make it touch our partners back.

In maths, we have been working on our 2 times table. We have been making groups of 2 to show that multiplication is the same as making groups of.

We also noticed the connection between doubling numbers and multiplying them by 2. We are smart cookies!!

Jibraeel- We made circles to make the 2 groups and then we wrote the answers in our jotter.

Talha- We put the counters in the circles to show us the answers.

Aarv- we learned about the 2 times table and that doubles are the same. We made groups of 2 and that equalled the answer.

Amna- We were learning about our 2 and 4 times table.

Innayah- We learned about multiplication.

Zainab- We were doing maths.

Jibraeel- We were trying to put the correct number in the groups to get the right answer.

Issa- We were learning about multiplication and adding are nearly the same. But multiplication is a x and adding is a plus.

Sam- We wrote in our jotters and we did our 4 times table.

In science, we have continued to look at electricity and how to stay safe when using it!

\

We identified the dangers around the home and we now know how to stay safe.

Arham- Electricity comes from a power plant, then to the big wires, then the smaller wires then into your home.

Talha- We always need to remember to turn the lights off.

Aarv- we learned about electricity and it can be dangerous so we don’t touch it.

Jibraeel- We know about batteries, mains and solar power.

Ajwa- Electricity is from the box outside your home.

Aarv- Only parents should touch wires and kid shouldn’t.

Zayn- you have to always keep elctricty away from you and don’t use too many wires.

Our weekend challenge this week is…. to count how many doors are in your house.

Hope you all have an amazing weekend!!

Miss Graham
