Another great week in Primary 2.

This week we have been working hard and having fun as usual.

We have been doing our 3 noun challenge. We have to write a sentence with nouns and adjectives to describe words like a volcano. (Yahya)

We have been learning about volcanoes. (Meekal)

We have bee learning about money. (Maryam)

We have been learning about living and non-living things. (Mohammed)

We have been learning about food chains. (Ghaith)

Food chains are about eating. You can eat and drink  from your mouth and it goes into your tummy. (Mohammed)

A food chain starts with a plant, then a creature comes and eats it and then a bigger animal will come and eat that creature, then the biggest animal will come and eat the medium size animal. (Muaaz)

A food chain could start with grass, then a cow eats the grass, then people eat the cows. (Ghaith)

We have been writing report cards all about our learning. (Iman)

We have been writing stories in our jotters. (Ayesha)

We have been practising our talents for the St Albert’s Talent show. (Haadiya)

Learning with Primary 2!

We have been learning how to speak English and playing a game in Maths where we sit in a circle and roll a big dice. Then move forward or back. (Uzair)

We have been learning about tens and units. 43 is 4 tens and 3 units. (Aiyla)

We have been learning about money. (Ayesha)

We have been learning to count using a 100 square. (Yahya)

We have been learning about The Big Issue and looking at their website. (Laiba and Wael)

We have started to learn about John Bird – he is the person who started The Big Issue to help the homeless people. (Hafsa)

We have been using empty number lines in Maths to add up numbers. (Lily)

We have been learning about Eid. At Eid we go to pray at Mosque. (Yahya)

We have been learning to write about our weekend in our jotters. (Meekal)

We have been learning about babies. Babies are beautiful and cute. (Haadiya)

We have been learning about the sounds that letters make. We have been practising sounds and writing sentences. (Ahmed)

Primary 2s Learning – An amazing week!

Primary 2 have had a wonderful week after their long weekend. We have been busy learning and having fun.

We have been learning about tens and units and hundreds. (Uzair)

We have been learning about doubling numbers like 7 and 8 and 9. (Yahya)

Double 7 is 14, double 8 is 16, and double 9 is 18. (Aimee)

We have been learning bout sounds. We have bee learning the sounds ai, ee, and oa. (Ahmed)

We have been doing a 3 word challenge. We have to choose a thing, a place and an animal/person and write a sentence with them in it. (Abdul)

We have been learning to add 10 and take away ten. (Hirrah)

We have been learning how to count on from numbers. (Maryam)

We have been learning about adjectives. Adjectives are words that we can describe with for example you can say something is green or blue. (Yahya and Muaaz)

We have been learning about money and playing money games. (Laiba)

We have been learning to do sums with missing numbers. (Ayesha)

We have been learning about class rules with Twiggle. We have been teaching him not to shout and sit nicely. (Ayesha, Qasim and Aimee)

We have been learning about nouns. Nouns are a person, an animal, a place or a thing. (Mysha and Nurjenna)

We have been learning how to give compliments. A compliment is if you say something nice to a person. (Maryam and Aamira)

A fabulous week for Primary 2!

It has been an amazing week for Primary 2 because we had our class Assembly and we got to show off all of our learning about the River Clyde. The children were all wonderful superstars who did a fantastic job saying their lines with loud, clear voices. We had some drama stars who did a super job at acting out their roles and we have been told that our singing and dancing was fabulous! Mrs Hunter-Andreuccetti is so so proud of all the children in Primary 2.

Also this wee we have been learning about digital learning as it is Digital Learning Week! (Hirrah)

We have been learning about money. (Ayesha and Mysha)

Every morning we have been doing a mental maths challenge where we work out how many people have a packed lunch, how many people are not in and how many lunches we will need. (Aamira and Iman)

Every morning we have been working out different ways to partition numbers. (Ahmed) For example if you wanted to partition 56 you would split it up into tens and units and the answer would be 5 tens and 6 units. (Lily)  56 is also the same as 30+20=50 and then 3+3=6 (Aydin)

We have been learning numbers that come after 20 and how to write them. (Alisha)

We have been learning about the River Clyde. (Laiba and Muaaz)

We have been learning in Science. We have been learning about living and non-living things. (Ghaith)

We have been teaching Twiggle about classroom rules. (Hafsa and Yahya)

We have been practising the Song Of The Clyde and our dance. (Meekal and Wael)

With Hazel we have been showing Twiggle how to do Turtle. (Aamira)
