Living our Values in the Community

Here at Rimbleton we aim to be the best we can be by displaying our school values at all times, both within the school and in the wider community.

Foodbank

Our Wellbeing Superheros have decided to help our community by collecting carrier bags for The National Food Bank.

Rotary Shoebox Appeal

Rimbleton Primary School have partnered with the Rotary club of Glenrothes to support their annual shoebox appeal. Being involved in this fantastic appeal gives us the chance to show our school values in action. We are lending our support to local organisation and the work they are doing in helping those in need throughout Eastern Europe.

Fareshare

FareShare began at Rimbleton by providing some snack options for Nursery pupils and ASC pupils. It has now grown to distribute food to local families who have needed support during the Covid 19 pandemic.

Scale of Support

During May and June 2020, we supported 28 families, which is 117 individuals, over 8 weeks.

We used 459 trays of food which equals 2.5 tonne of food in total.

Further Lockdown Support

Please view the following sway to see how else we supported our families during Lockdown and to listen to some parent feedback.

Age Concern

Our school and families have links with age concern and Lomond Court Care Home. The children at Rimbleton Primary School have enjoyed spending time with some of the older people in our community in the past but haven’t been able to do this recently.

We designed a Christmas card and our families contributed to our Christmas hamper appeal  to show we were thinking of them. Our pupils are hoping to be able to visit them again soon.

Litter Picking – Fife Street Champions

The children have learned about the impact of humans on the environment and the importance of disposing of rubbish correctly. They have joined Fife Street Champions to help pick litter around Rimbleton and South Parks which has helped ensure the environment is cleaner and safer for everyone.
