Parent Partnership

Objectives of the Parent Partnership

We aim to be involved in activities which support the education and welfare of the pupils and to represent the views of parents on the education and welfare of pupils. Our role is to promote relationships between the school, pupils, parents, carers and the wider community.

A guide to Parent Partnership meetings

The Parent Partnership meet once every school term with members of the School Management Team and other representatives as required eg members from the Pupil Council.

Our Aims:

  • to benefit the school with the ideas, skills, knowledge and opinions of its members
  • to decide what actions to take
  • to come to decisions everyone is happy with

When events are approaching the Parent Partnership may meet to plan the event and ensure everything is in order before the event eg the Christmas Fayre.

These are the sort of things we get involved in:

  • Fundraising activities – school fairs, school discos
  • Interviewing new staff (Headteachers and Depute Headteachers)
  • School Improvement Planning
  • Organising social events
  • After School Clubs
  • Sharing National/Regional educational information
  • Act as point of contact for parents

These are the sort of things we have provided for the school over the past few years:

  • Funded redevelopment of the garden area outside the junior entrance
  • A new library
  • Contribution towards P7 Leavers hoodies
  • Led initiatives eg Books for School, Books for Nurseries
  • Provided each class with outdoor play equipment
  • Contributed to new benches for the school playground
