Cost of the School Day
At Rimbleton Primary School and Nursery, we believe that every child should be able to take part fully in school life, regardless of their family circumstances.
We know that the costs associated with school can add up. We are committed to reducing these costs wherever possible and ensuring that no child misses out because of financial circumstances.

💛 Our Rimbleton Community Hub
Our Community Hub is available to support all Rimbleton families and is an important part of how we help reduce the Cost of the School Day.
Families can access free pre-loved clothing and other useful items, helping us to reuse what we have while reducing unnecessary costs.
Throughout the year, our Hub is stocked and themed to meet the needs of our families. This can include:
- 👕 School uniform
- 🧥 Winter jackets and warm clothing
- 🎃 Halloween costumes
- 🎄 Christmas jumpers
- 👟 Shoes and other useful items
- ♻️ Other seasonal clothing and resources as they become available
Families are welcome to make use of the Hub whenever they need it.
We also welcome donations of good-quality items that other Rimbleton families could reuse.
🎒 Keeping the School Day Affordable
We consider cost when planning activities across the school.
Learning resources – Essential resources and equipment needed for learning are provided by the school.
Trips and experiences – We aim to keep costs as low as possible. If the cost of an activity is causing difficulty, please contact us so that we can help.
Clubs and wider opportunities – We want every child to have opportunities to participate, develop their interests and celebrate their achievements.
Special days and events – Families should never feel pressured to buy new costumes, themed clothing or other items for school events. Check our Community Hub first – we may already have just what you need!
🍎 Free School Meals & Clothing Grants
All pupils in Primary 1–5 are currently entitled to universal free school meals.
Trips and experiences – We aim to keep costs as low as possible. If the cost of an activity is causing difficulty, please contact us so that we can help.

At Rimbleton, this means listening to our pupils and families, considering the financial impact of school activities and working together to remove barriers to participation.

If we cannot provide the support directly, we will do our best to connect families with other sources of help.
