Frequently Asked Questions

Does my child have to wear school uniform and how do I order it?

We encourage all pupils within Rimbleton Primary School to wear school uniform colours if possible. The link to order uniform can be found by  here.

If my child uses transportation , will I be able to travel with them for the first couple of weeks?

Unfortunately not. There will be an experienced taxi escort to help support your child to and from school each day. Photographs of the taxis will be shared within transition documents and you will be informed of pick up and drop off times by the taxi company.

My child has an inhaler and/or medicine that they may require during the day. Who do I inform?

When your child starts here in August please bring the medication with you. You will be asked to complete and sign a form. All medication will be stored in a locked cupboard.

Our child wears nappies. Is that ok?

Of course this is ok. Support Staff will change your child’s nappy when necessary and we will support you when you feel your child is ready to be toilet trained.

What happens if my child does not like the snack provided in school?

We encourage the children to try a variety of different foods at snack time and they will be given a small choice each day. We will monitor what your child is eating in school and if we are concerned that they are not eating enough we will discuss this with you.

What happens at lunch time?

All pupils are eating lunch in their classrooms due to the current restrictions. When it is safe to have classes together in the hall, our ASC classes will go to the dinner hall 10 minutes earlier than mainstream classes. This allows the children to collect their lunch and sit down before the dinner hall gets busy.

Will my child be supported when eating lunch?

Yes, there will be Pupil Support Assistants with them at all times. Staff will encourage children to be as independent as possible but will help with cutting up food and feeding if necessary.

Where will my child play during break and lunch time?

You child will play with the other children from their class in the ASC playground or in the sensory garden. Both of these areas are secure.
