Primary 5 and 6 have worked very hard over the past couple of weeks, creating World Book day activities for the whole school to complete. We also designed a powerpoint with the helping hand of Mrs Cameron and Miss Meldrum.
Miss Morrison, the p5 teacher created speed reading for the whole school to take part in.
In P6, we have done reading for 15 minutes everyday for the past week. We also created two competitions for every class, including the ASC.
Each class had until the end of the week to complete these competitions. There were prizes for those who completed the task in their class.
Each task was set in the matter of a day. We handed sheets around the whole school to let them know what their activities were for the week.
Primary 6 pupils organised a Scots Poetry competition for Burns day. Each class was given a poem to recite and pupils were given the chance to represent their class in a whole school competition on TEAMS. Our overall winners are being sent forward to the Rotary Club Burns poetry competition.
The winners of the competition were Jamie and Shayan from Primary 6, with a fantastic presentation of A Dug, A Dug by Bill Keys.
Below are photographs of the pupils who represented their class and recited a poem or sang a song during the online assembly. Well Done to everyone, you all did a fantastic job.
Primary 6 also created a learning choice board for classes with activities and competitions to do over Burns Week. Classes were to colour each box to keep track of completed activities. The more they completed the more points they got. The class who finished with the most points was given a prize.
We held a Burns assembly on 25th January to celebrate the life and poems of Robert Burns. We really enjoyed having the responsibility of planning for the whole school.
