We are a class of 25 pupils and our teacher is Mrs Heaton.

For information – P.E. will be taught by Mr Cardus on Wednesdays and gym kits are to be worn to school. Mr Cardus will also teach R.M.E.

Homework – homework will be given out on Wednesdays and is to be completed for the following Monday. Reading books and reading records will come home in a folder. One other piece of homework from across the curriculum will also be set. Details of homework will be posted on this class page.

Art/painting- I have a small number of shirts and t shirts to protect clothing during art. Please feel free to bring in an old t shirt or shirt and I can label and store them in the cupboard.

Reading for pleasure – we have a class library and any books brought in from home can be kept in individual trays. We will be continuing our focus on independent reading and choosing books.

Homework week beginning 24th August 2026

I’m assessing reading at the moment and pupils have been reading homework books in class with myself and their peers. I’ll send folders home next week. In the meantime, homework this week is a talking and listening task.

Choose a book or children’s film you have enjoyed. Be ready to talk about your choice – include the name and author, genre (type of film or book), characters, where the story is set and why you have chosen the book or film. Finally, would you recommend it to a friend? Give your reasons why or why not. You’ll be given the opportunity to discuss your choices next Monday.
