P.5/6

Welcome to the P5/6 class page. There are 24 children in the class and the teacher is Miss Rennie and Mrs Dickson (Monday afternoon’s and Tuesday’s).

Gym day is a Tuesday and the children are expected to come to school dressed for gym. Lessons may take place indoors or outdoors so please dress appropriately for the weather.

Please remember to bring in any pictures for our ‘class fridge!’

Remember to bring in any books you wish to read in class (this will be up to the child to keep safe). We are putting together our class library so if you wish to donate any books you no longer read to the class this would be greatly appreciated!

Homework~ Homework is posted each Wednesday on this page and also on our class teams page in the homework chat.

HOMEWORK:

  • HOMEWORK: CLASS ELECTION FRIDAY 21st JUNE

For our class election I have asked you all to create persuasive posters/badges/rosettes for your party leaders and political parties. These can be brought in any time between now and next Friday.

TOPIC: Ongoing- please continue to familiarise yourself with the election and political parties in the UK. Try and keep up with the news! Think about what the parties are doing to persuade people to vote for them.

  • MRS DICKSON TALK HOMEWORK DUE 10th June (for those who have not done it yet):  Solo Talk Task P5-6
  • Please also remember to keep practicing your times tables! You can do this by practicing speed tables or there are lots of helpful games on Topmarks! https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/7-11-years/multiplication-and-division

Reading: The class know to prepare their reading pages for their next reading day and to complete their literacy circle role in their reading jotter.

READING: As you know we are now going to be taking on different roles in our reading groups. We will all start with the same roles before moving on to a new one. You have all been given a reading jotter, a new polly wallet and those who had lost reading records were issued with a new one. Please can you at home fill in some detail each week in your reading jotter to be ready to discuss at your next reading group. The details for all the literacy circle roles are found below!
The class are also encouraged to ‘treat read’ at home! This helps us to recommend books in class. Happy reading! 🙂 Try and do at least 20 minutes of treat reading at home each week!

Please remember to bring in any pictures for our ‘class fridge!’: This can be photographs, postcards, fridge magnet, old tickets, certificates etc.
