As you are aware we had a visit from Inspectors from Education Scotland on 4th March. The report is now published and can be viewed by clicking here:
This is a very positive outcome for our school & nursery and we are delighted the team recognised our strengths and the areas for development very much align with our own self evaluation findings.
Our current data shows we will again have 14 classes next session and when staffing is confirmed we will share classes and teachers for next session. There will be an opportunity for children to meet their teacher and visit their new classroom prior to the holidays. End of session reports outlining progress and next steps will be issued in late June. Look out for Term 4 Learning Sways which will be uploaded to Seesaw on 21/06/24.
This term there is a focus on transition and our P7 pupils have visited Woodmill High School to participate in PE activities and meet key staff. We will be welcoming DLC pupil ambassadors in June to share information about the new building. Ms Cambridge, Miss Brown and Miss Shields had the privilege of visiting the DLC Site and were able to answer questions and share photographs. For more information on the new campus please visit https://www.fife.gov.uk/dlc
We have a comprehensive P1 transition programme and look forward to welcoming our new P1 children and families to Lynburn in the coming months.
A number of staff are leaving us this term:
Miss Hill (PSA) & Miss McQuillan (P4B). We thank them for their support and wish them well in their new journeys.
I wrote to you earlier about the Primary Management Model resulting in us losing a Depute Head Teacher. I can confirm Miss Doyle will be transferring to a DHT post at Burntisland Primary School from August 2024. Miss Doyle will be a huge asset to their school and nursery and will be greatly missed by everyone at Lynburn. We wish her all the very best in her new post.
Children from P7 attended the 5,6,7,8 Dance Festival at Lochgelly Centre. They confidently presented a creative dance to a large audience and Miss Brown was very proud and pleased with their performance.
It was great to see so many children sharing their favourite stories as part of World Book Day and I know everyone enjoyed wearing their PJs that day.
Every class participated in a Karate Taster session. The children had great fun and information was sent home for those who wish to join the JKS Club.
Due to the generosity of the Tryst Management Committee we were able to provide every P7 pupil with a Leavers Hoodie. The children look very smart and are wearing them with pride.
We are looking forward to the Dunfermline Gala on Saturday 22nd June. The theme is ‘Pop and Rock Stars’ and we are hoping to see lots of great costumes. Here is some key information from the Gala Committee to ensure the smooth running and everyone’s safety.
On the day of the gala:
- All classes will need to have parent volunteers so if you are able to help, please contact the school.
- It is Lynburn’s turn to be last in the parade so this means we might be in the car park area for slightly longer than last year.
- Parents should pick their children up before 1pm. Wristbands will be provided for each child to go on the inflatables after 1pm.
- The theme is Rock & Pop Stars and everyone is welcome to dress up.
