Friday 9th December 2018 saw the children of Tolsta Primary School coming together for their Remembrance Day Assembly. They were joined by family members, friends and neighbours who came to the school to hear what the children had been learning about the Iolaire tragedy. Rev Roddy John Campbell spoke to the children about when Joshua crossed the River Jordan and commanded the tribes of Israel to pick up memorial stones and Cathie Mary Smith from North Tolsta Historical Society shared with all present the plans the Society had to work with the children in making some memorial stones to remember those from North and New Tolsta who perished in the tragedy. It was a very poignant day and one which we are sure the children will remember for some time to come.
