Primary 4c were given the chance to try out the new VR headsets within the school today. They thoroughly enjoyed learning how to use them and can’t wait to explore more places.
What did we do?
Ellie – “We went under the sea and I could see sharks, turtles and fish. It was a good way to explore.
What will use them for in class?
Alisha – ” They will help us to learn more about our topics. We can look about different places and see what they are like. And also look underwater.”
What did we do?
Daniel Lawrence and Valentina – “We walked to the library and we took notes whilst we walked to record what directions we took. When we came back to class we put our notes into proper instructions.”
What skills did you learn?
Zara – “We learned to use bossy verbs.”
Paul – “We learned how to read and write directions.”
Luke – “We learned how to take notes and use our notes.”
Why was this useful?
Alex – “Directions will help me if I get lost.”
Patrick – “When I am older I will be fast at taking notes.”
Ewan – “I could give someone clear directions.”
Thank you very much to all the parents that managed to make it to Primary 4’s Stage Mass yesterday. It was a lovely mass and the children all sang out beautifully. Thank you to Father Stephen for taking the time to come to school to say mass and to Miss Kane for playing the piano.
Another special achievement awarded in Primary 4d for dancing. A very talented class!
Primary 4c have been working hard to improve the speed at which they can answer multiplication questions. They put their abilities to the test with some quick fire games of multiplication snap, matching and dominoes. 
Primary 4c enjoyed developing their golf skills today in P.E. They worked has a team to create different games at the stations set out.
A huge well done to all the primary four children who made their Reconciliation on Thursday night at St. Joseph’s Church. The children were all delighted to take this next step on their faith journey and all their teachers and families were very proud of the them. Well done primary four!
Primary 4a really loved getting to visit our new school library. Lots of parents and friends have helped us to make this a really special and cosy place to go and read.
First of all we explored, and everyone chose a new book to read in class and at home.
Then we put on some quiet music, settled down – and spent some time travelling to lots of different worlds. We can’t wait till our next visit!
P4a have been learning a lot during our music lessons. With Mrs Lyall we have been connecting our rhythms together to create pieces of music. Â We identify the time signatures and number of beats in the bar as we go.
In class, we also listened to an amazing song called ‘Up is Down’ by a composer called Hans Zimmer. Â It was based on a film about pirates and being out in the ocean. Â First of all, we listened and tried to identify all of the different instruments that took turns playing the melody.
Next, we were each given a section of a picture of a pirate ship – and tried to draw the melody we could hear. Â The end result was amazing – we are very proud of our Class Pirate Picture!
